How strict are colleges with accepting new students? And what do they mainly look for?

I’m doing my GCSEs next year and I want to know what I can expect when I go to a College open day.

Many colleges are not overly demanding. Just good grades and SAT scores.

Now, some Universities are demanding. Harvard aced 1,100 students with PERFECT SAT scores this year.
