Well, it depends on the college and what they consider one “unit”, but generally speaking, you need to be attending classes that will equal to 12 hours total. So for instance, my college goes based on credits. A 3 credit class means that I meet in the classroom for 1 hour 3 times per week. In order for me to make the 12 credit hours that are required for full time, I have to enroll in 4, 3 credit classes.

I hope that made some sense to you and that it helps answer your question.

Depends on the college. At my local community college 12 credits were considered full time for the fall and spring semesters. Summer credits had to equal 6 or more to beconsidered full-time.

I enrolled in another college online to finish my degree and only had to be enrolled in 6 credits for full-time status.

It just depends on the college. Talk to an academic advisor and ask them.

Well, if you are on semesters, full time is usually 16 credits (4 classes). 3/4 time = 12 credits, 1/2 time = 8 credits.

But quarters are different. Just ask someone in registration or financial aid and they’ll tell you.
