Sad to tell you this, but you are going to HAVE to SEPARATE yourself from your PARTYING friends. Only THEN will you have a chance to get your mind set OUT of partying and INTO the BOOKWORK you need to do! If you can’t get away from the partying in your dorm room (or whatever housing you’re in), GO TO THE LIBRARY to study.

You have to KNOW in your mind that the “partying” all the time is NOT good for your schoolwork…. and when you see the others partying, you have to repeat to yourself that YOU CANNOT AFFORD to party any longer because your grades are suffering, and you want to SUCCEED (graduate with GOOD grades!) in college. What others do is THEIR problem, but don’t make it YOURS.

I’m not saying that you cannot party AT ALL… just that you have to severely LIMIT it. It’s almost becoming like an alcohol addiction for you, however, you cannot get away from it. And maybe, LIKE a “recovering acoholic” you have to NOT drink… not party… at all, because you’ll just drop right back into that destructive behavior.

Really… unless you are taking an extremely demanding “technical” coursework (i.e. biology, chem, physics, math, nursing, pre-med, pre-law…. etc) college doesn’t demand ALL your waking hours. But if you are not devoting sufficient time to even get the basic coursework done, your partying is INTERFERING with your college, and THAT is the WARNING sign you NEED to make you stop.

Good luck!
