Licensing varies by state…so, for California, check this site

Some other questions to consider:
1) are you a California resident? If so, tuitions will be lower; if not, out of state tuition applies.
2) Community College or 4-year University: resident or not, community college tuitions are definitely lower. So, check the internet for a CA comm coll near your location to see if they have a vocational certificate program for land surveyor.
3) review the licensing info from the previously listed websites and compare the CA comm coll curricula to the career path for full licensing. Pick the school/program that will get you to your goal in a time and cost effective manner.
Hope this helps….best wishes in your studies.
