How can I prepare for the SAT?

I am a junior in high school, so I will take the SAT next year.

I will have an SAT calss at school next year, but I want to start preparing now so I will have a good score.

What can I do?

I really don’t want to spend a lot of money.

The thing I am worried about the nost is math.

I am absolutely HORRIBLE at math.

Any advice?

you can buy the SAT book that collegeboard sells. you can get it on amazon.com for a cheaper price. the original is about 20 bucks.

for the math, you should just review math formulas. The math on the SATs are relatively easy and mainly are there to see if you remembered formulas you learned before.

So review them and then do all the excercises in the SAT book. and you should be okay.

The Princeton review is an excellent way to study. Newer versions will probably include a cdrom to study. I did well on my SATs using that alone although many ppl i knew also used private tutors and studied in groups. Be focused well fed and calm when testing. Good luck.

If you are heading into your junior year now, note that many people take the SAT THIS year, in the spring (March and/or June.) My son took the SAT once, in March of his junior year.

Ideal for you to take a prep clas, but if you can’t then get the Princeton Review and/or Barron’s review books/CDs and work them over. You need to learn the strategies of taking the test (e.g. when to guess, when not to guess, how to pace yourself, etc.) as much as you need to learn/re-learn the materials.

Form a study group or get a tutor that has already taken the SAT. Go to library and get SAT for Dummies or a book that has practice SAT test in them. Search for websites that will all you to practice. Get all the tips and advice from your teachers that you can.
