Going back to school for med school?

I’m a 27 year old college grad (marketing) and want to go back to school to attempt to get into med school. Anyone tried that? Any tips?

My gf did that and her best friend. My gf is a different story. She was already a science major and had completed all the required class.

Her best friend though was a Art major and had to start from scratch. It’s really hard be she got into med school. But now she’s having a tough time and barely passing her med school classes. People forget that when you get into med school, it only gets more difficult. There’s a lot of people who have to fail and take classes over again.

The tips I would give is to take your required science classes at a community college because it’ll be cheaper and easier to get A’s. Also, volunteer at a hospital and see if this is definitely what you want to do. You’ll be 31 when you graduate and then at least 34 until you’re done with residency. You’ll be 35 or 36 when actually make any kind of money…

Contact the medical school at Southern Illinois University. They offer a special program specifically for people like you. It is a refresher program for those interested in medical school who do not come from a strong math/science background. They will help you prepare for the MCAT exam which will qualify you for medical school.
