Getting in without comunity college?

It is way too long to explain, I absoluley cannot do community college (this isnt a want or need issue, Its just were I live and the feasibility of doing such is unprobable and unsensable ) Even If I absoulutly wanted to ,it cant work out. What out of the box methods and outside steps might you think work to help sway these admssions decisions? I have a 3.5 gpa, NHS,NTHS,NSHSS and Iam an Ealge scout. I keep getting denied. This is my 3rd year of trying. Iam also a substitute teacher if that helps. so without comunity college how can I improve my odds?

also i already have a 3.0 in my community college but I cannot do it anymore.

It’s THEIR game and if you want to play, then you play it the way they tell you too.

University would be a worthless degree course if they let anyone with minimal education enter in as a Junior student… the standards are already so low it’s ridiculous… I can only imagine how bringing people who, for whatever reason, can’t do the college work, into a degree course and make the other students have to tolerate them.

What happens if everyone in a class is not at the same level is, the ones who don’t have a CLUE about the subject matter because they didn’t study it in a lower grade.. is that it brings the entire class down because the teacher has to spend a disproportionate amount of time with the substandard student.

If you REALLY want to go to university then you will stop finding excuses about your failure and start figuring out how to do the work they require of you.

There are two possible issues:

– There is something about your application that is wrong. Are you having others proofread your applications? Have you seen the transfer counsellor at your current school? Do you have strong recommendations?

– If your application is, at the core, in decent shape, then I suspect that you are applying to the wrong universities. You’re applying to universities that are too competitive re: SATs or GPA or other factors. They aren’t a good fit for you.

You need to start over, fresh. Look at yourself, and try to figure out what sorts of universities are a good fit for you, for your grades, your scores, and everything else about you. Then apply specifically to those universities.

For example, maybe UMass Amherst rejected you. Maybe you can’t get in there. But maybe you could get in to UMass Boston or UMass Lowell. Would one of those schools, which have less competitive admissions, be a better fit for you? If those are still too stringent, look at Framingham State College, etc.

Another example. Fordham rejected you. Might Seton Hall, or Mercy College, or St. Peter’s, be a better fit? They are also Catholic, and in the NY area, but they have less competitive admissions.

These are just for examples, but they may give you a feel for the type of analysis I’m talking about. I strongly believe that you will be able to get into a college that you will like and do well at. But you need to look at what schools you’ve applied to so far, see if maybe they were too far a reach re: scores and etc., and find schools that you like just as well, but that are a better fit in terms of admissions standards.

In your own area, look at the smaller state schools, and the smaller private schools. In some cases, those can be a bit easier to get into than the flagship schools, or those that are nationally known. And yet they provide strong educations.

And you may have luck applying to schools that are outside your region, but that are good fits re: grades and etc. Sometimes, in the quest for diversity, a small school in Nebraska will find the fact that you are from, say, Massachusetts a plus, as they don’t normally get a lot of applicants from there.

If you can tell me exactly where you are looking to go to school, and give me an example of a couple of schools that have rejected you but that you liked, I may be able to give you a list of schools that may fit.

Have you tried getting a letter of recommendation or a letter stating that you are of high moral standing, a long with all of your hobbies, accomplishments,GPA etc.

If not, have you tried applying to take classes at a University that you are interested in attending on-line/distant learning?

The requirements are a little less strict, and then once in, you can see if you can switch to on campus classes.

I hope this helps… Good luck.

How many universities have you tried? You may need to broaden your search.

Have you talked to your counselors at your community college? Also, is your spelling/typing here similar to what you put on your application? If so, well, you may have your answer. You also don’t state your major, that may be something to consider. And, are you willing to move temporarily?

Another thing to consider is attending an online program.

You can get into a four year state or regional university. Start applying and see what you can accomplish. I bet you get in for the fall term.

Honestly I really don’t know what is your connotation of a community college, because I live in a country with different educational system, from prep, elem, high school, college, master to doctorate or graduate school. However, now at my age and having learned the very needs not only of my country but the world for us to have a better community to live in, I advise you to devote your rest of your golden years to DEDICATE YOURSELF TO STUDY THE HOLY BIBLE, AND MAYBE ONE DAY YOU WILL BE A PASTOR OR A PREACHER, SUCH IS THE MOST IMPORTANT AND MOST NOBLE PROFESSION YOU AND YOUR LOVE ONES AND THE WHOLE WORLD WILL BE PROUD OF TO HELP PEOPLE TO KNOW GOD AND SERVE THE NEEDS OF MANKIND, THAT YOU MAY BE ABLE TO LESSEN THE EVILS THAT IS EATING UP OUR UNIVERSAL COMMUNITY, AND GOD WILL GET IN YOUR NAME IN THE BOOK OF LIFE IN THE THIRD HEAVEN. GOD BLESS YOU, BROD. The grades man can give based on their human mental excellence, is not even a drop of dirt worthy to God’s way of knowing your Good Heart my Friend. Trust your worthy to God’s All Watching Eyes on you at all moments of time.
