A lot of schools don’t offer business programs, either because they are focusing their business education efforts on their graduate programs, or because they are liberal arts schools who don’t offer career-specific education in general. Which would be best depends on the kind of business job you are looking for. If you are thinking of doing something financially-oriented, lie being a stockbroker or going into banking, economics is definitely the best choice. If you are planning on going into sales, consumer products, or a retail business, psychology might be a better option. I also have a grad student right now who has been working in consumer products for about 8 years, and she was a sociology major. If you find you need more education later on, you can always go back for an MBA when you know what you want to learn.

Economics is the one that is most closely related to business. Psychology could be a big help. A lot of people don’t take sociology degrees very seriously — so I would avoid that one.

You really will need a business degree unless you plan on going directly into graduate school. If that’s the case, psychology would certainly be appropriate for a marketing job but economics would be better for finance-related work. You’re still probably better with economics if you really do not want to switch schools.
