In Philippine set up, it goes like this:

1. Pre-School – Nursery, Kinder, Prep

2. Primary – Grades I to VI (or VII in some)

3. Secondary – First to Fourth Year (Freshman, Sophomore, Junior, Senior)

4. College / University – almost synonymous

5. Post Graduate Degrees – MA, MBA, PhD, etc…

College and University are the same level of education in the US, the one you begin after high school/secondary.

Colleges may offer fewer degrees, such as only at the associates level or only up to the baccalaureate. A university also offers baccalaureate but usually graduate degrees as well (Masters, PhD, and sometimes degrees in law, medicine, etc).

Depends where ur from..

In australia.

uni is one of the options

tafe(The Technical and Further Education) is a easier option to get into, u get a dipolma instead of a bacholor’s degree. But the diploma has a less qualification than a bacholors degree.

Another option is an appertientship where u can get to work in the real work place to get expericence (but this is more hands on and suits people who want to become builders etc….)

Or u can start looking for a job…

depends what u want in life and choose what suits you

After graduation one can choose a line according to his/her choice. It is not necessary to have a university degree for all. Those who are engaged themselves in research works or want to be specialist in any branch–say medicine, technology, science, arts and crafts , or in any walks of life–they are advised to continue further education. Other wise general or mediocur students may take up profession as per their choice even at HS level, There are some exceptions — in case of medicine,Engineering etc.

I guess it depends on what you’re up to. But if you want to keep on studying, it should be: University, then a Masters, then a Ph. D. and finally a Post Doc (as many as you want).
