Easiest way to study anatomy?

i’ve had anatomy in the past, but haven’t been in school for 2 years. now i’m back in anatomy but i’m having more of a difficult time than i expected because i’m having to recall the information and refresh my brain of the material.

for those who took anatomy, what study methods do you use?? (i.e. writing flash cards, etc.) i’m a visual learner so i have to see a picture or see something in person for it to mean something to me. right now i’m trying flash cards because it’s never worked in the past, but i’m desperate at this point because i can’t fail this class. i may be kicked out of school or set back a year or 2 in my program. HELP PLEASE!!!!! Thanks!

I love anatomy! Best thing to do is learn it in sections, dont over load yourself and do the whole body at once. Being a visual learner, blow up a picture of the area of the body you are studying, color coordinate it and use it to memorize. It will help you a lot to see it and in colors. Plus you will be able to group things together. Not only that, look online for Mnemonics on anatomy it helps in memorizing. Of course, you can always make up your own mnemonics as well.

GLuck! (P.S. flashcards never worked for me either)

I had to compare my notes to pictures. For example: the heart. I would take notes on the parts of the heart, blood flow and so forth (I sometime used index cards) then see if I could tell these things by following my note cards with the picture. ( I did this with all areas of anatomy.) You don’t have take long drawn out notes-just enough to have a good understanding.
