does it help if my mom studied in the university i want to go to? (McGill)?
i heard someone talking and saying that it helps if ur parents or a member of your family went to the university you want to apply to. My mom and her brother both got scholarships to mcGill, and i heard that if both parents studied in mcgill the kid gets to go for free.. when i heard this i just wanted to ask you guys to make sure.. i dont think its true.. so yeah.. basically..
– does the fact that my mom went to the university help me get a place?
lol thanks a lot

I would have to say it will not help you much. And the free part, I have never heard of that before. I am a student at Ohio University and I know if your parents work there then thier kids can go free.

It always helps to have a family alumni from the school you are applying to. It doesn’t mean you are going to get in, but it certainly helps.
