Does anyone have a JD/MBA?
I am gettting my JD/MBA. Honestly, not from the best schools but not the worst. Since I am doing this full time I will not have much work experience. For those who have one, what kind of careers do I have available to me. Whats a normal pay (NYC salary) – have those loans to pay off? Did you go into law or business? What is a lucrative field?

The sky is the limit with degrees like that. Both are extremely flexible and versatile. My personal recommendation would be to go into business instead of law. The hours are not quite as brutal and your first years won’t be spent treading through muck as you work your way toward partner. Either way, if you do well in school, a lucrative career awaits. It all depends on how hard you are willing to work.
Good luck!

I would spend a couple of years in law and then switch over to business. If you do not have any real experience in Law, then the only thing that the JD gives you is some class work. You can then get into Investment bank and make a ton. At first, you will work a lot in either job. Most of the JD/MBA’s that I know did law school first, and then went back for their MBA’s. It worked out well for them.
