More than 60 to 80 grand a year. PTs who are rehab directors make over 90 grand a year. If they’ve been at it a while, some make 6 figures. New grads can make up to $50/hour, depending on the setting.

You have not mentioned your location.
In many places in India, physical therapist degree is considered as an equal degree to a doctor’s degree.

Don’t count on $50 an hour…especially as a new graduate…but according to the latest survery by the APTA (2005) most PTs (about 50%) were earning between $50-70,000 a year. New graduates usually earn about $5-10,000 less than that. As mentioned above, it will depend on your setting. “Hard to fill positions” can pay over $70,000 a year…typically with an agency placement.
In all, PTs tend to make a very comfortable living, but certainly not outlandish.
