Do i claim my financial aid refund from college on my taxes?
i go to college on finacial aid grants and whatever is not used for books and tuition i get a check for within the semester. Do i claim that money on my taxes?

You need to report on your taxes any financial aid (grants & scholarships) that exceeds your the costs for your tuition, fees and books for the calendar year.

You don’t need to worry about keeping track of the refund. Your school will have a 1098T form that will be mailed to you by January 31st. It lists everything you need from your school for tax purposes.
