Do foster children have a leg up in the way of college admissions?

I am wondering if I should go through with the legal process of becoming someone’s foster child in order to benefit my admissions process to top colleges (Amherst, Dartmouth, Brown, UC Berkeley). I am in a situation where it is feasible- don’t live with any relatives, but I want to go with the decision that’s best for admissions.

The only thing that it would benefit you in is financial aid…there being more opportunity for grants and scholarships.

Being a foster child will not help you get into a college

I dont really know, but i think there is a possibility (at least im not ruling this out) that being a foster child might not give you a leg up on admissions. It might get you more help with financial aid (i’m thinking you pay less) but i not so sure about admissions because i dont know if this is something colleges would consider. Most people tell me that they just look at grades, classes and SAT scores.

BEING A FOSTER CHILD ENDS AT AGE 18. IF YOU’RE DUMB ENOUGH TO ASK A QUESTION LIKE THAT, YOU’RE TOO STUPID TO GET ACCEPTED TO ANY COLLEGE.
