Do colleges only look at grades?

i am planning to go to a music college.Through high school the grades i had in my core corses (english, science, math) werent the greates they were usually low 80s high 70s. i am very active in extracuriccular activities tho. i am in chorus, band, jazz band, sweet adelines, drama club, theater crew, i have audiotion for district band ad choruse and have made it to distric regional and state levels placeing first and second. i also go to county band and chorus festivals for the PMEA (pennsylvania music educators association). i am also involved in the NEPA theater leauge and have done shows with them, i am also part of another theater leauge…i have made history in my school’s music progam.i have taken part in a summer collge program and took the lead role in a show i did there. in my music theory courses i have straight hundreds…but my parents say its the grades that matter…..am i gonna suffer from my bad grades? will i be able to get into a college thats not a community college?

If you tell them exactly what you’ve told us you will have no probs! You seem like a pretty clever person- jus go for what you want, a music college isnt gonna care about normal grades so much as the grades you get in music.

colleges purely look at grades 9-12, it fairly is why maximum individuals describe extreme college as a clean slate. That pronounced, the be taught behavior you improve in center college will effect the varieties of grades you get carry of in extreme college. start up forming sturdy behavior early on; you will thank your self later.

Nope. they also look at SAT or ACT test scores.

Athletics or Clubs in High School are also important.
