I didnt go to college right away. Im 24 and just now in my second semester. Im married, we own our own home, and we both started college later in life. My husband was 24 as well when he started ( he will be 26 friday).

I often get asked if i feel like i missed out not going sooner, or if I am disappointed in myself. I am not any way disappointed in myself I feel like I did what was right for me in my life. I dont live my life based on what someone else tells me to do, I live my life with my morals, my beliefs, and my choices. Because it is just that, my life.

I dont feel I missed out on anything, i feel that im actually a lot more equipped now to go to college than I would have been at 18. When I got married at 18, I learned very quickly that I had to grow up. I think having that experience and gaining that fact of having a lot of responsibility right off the bat, gave me more responsibility towards college.

I think college has may advantages, furthering your education means you will get farther in most careers and it will help you to become a more well rounded person. Do i think theres advantages or disadvantages over going right away. Nope, go when you are ready. I go to community college, maybe thats where you want to start, maybe you want to go to work first, what ever you want to do that you can afford and be happy in.

I think its worth more than 4 years, the way I am now, I dont ever want to stop going to college, at least part time. I enjoy the atmosphere and I enjoy classes, but i also feel its worth 2 years if thats where you want to start.

I didn’t really want to go to college when I graduated from high school. I was always looking back at my parents and blamed them for my unhappiness. I just wanted to take a break and work before I went to school. If your heart is not there, it’s not worth going. I struggled in school because I didn’t want to go in the first place since my parents made me.

All I can say is ‘ you decide what you want to do’ and don’t let anyone tell you what to do. It’s your life! Be happy!

Find something that you love or passionate about and go for it. Accept yourself for who you are and don’t let other influence your choices.

Pro: Depending on what you do, you get a college degree, but it doesn’t necessary guarantee a job.

Great place to meet people

Con: It takes 4 years and it’s alot of work. If you don’t keep up the work, you can get kicked out of college and it will be time and money down the drain.

You can also work to gain experience and work your way up.

My boyfriend long ago was a ‘trader’ and the company he worked for trained him. He didn’t go to college and he worked his way up. He made more money than a fresh college graduate because he has been working his way up for the 4 years in college.

Do what you love and money will follow.

Hope this helps!

I did go to college. I didn’t love it, but I didn’t hate it either. I learned a lot, and I think that made it worth it for me, but it won’t be worth it for you if you resist the idea of college because the learning part takes a lot of hard work.

Some people use college as an excuse to party for four years. If you want to do that, you can save your parents thousands of dollars by getting a job in a college town and just hanging out in the bars there.

Loved college – great time to meet new people and explore all kinds of things. Is it worth 4 years? You can’t afford NOT to go. Look at the statistics out there – without a college education your job/earning potential is bleak. College isn’t all about being smart – it’s about your work ethic. If you go to class every day and put in the work – you’ll do fine.

I went to college one year. But, in that one year, I learned enough about my chosen type of work, that I found a job during the summer, and went to work.

The job was steady work, with a good pay check, and I never had the time to go back to college. Everybody should go to college, if they can afford it. It is getting more costly every year.

Go now, before the rates go up higher. You won’t regret it.

If you’re a hot chick, your looks are all that matter.

Of course, those looks will be gone one day.

I’ve got a degree, most of my friends don’t.

They seem to be more happy.

Sure I’ve got a decent income, and not many people want to get in a battle of wits against me, but it hasn’t made me a happier person.

I thought the girls would be impressed, but it doesn’t matter.

As for you girls, us guys will take the hot girl, 18 year old high school drop out instead of the 30something with an advanced degree.

Going to college doesn’t mean you have to go all four years.
