Diagnostic Medical Sonographer requirements to become Registered Vascular technician? (ARDMS only)?
I’m currently enrolled in a general DMS program accredited by ARDMS, and was wondering mainly the specific requirements to further education in the specialized RVT field? Is this something that we can learn on the job, then after a certain amount of time and practice can apply to take the exam if were already DMS certfied?
Or does RVT require going to school specifically for this field? I know that some DMS programs offered by CAAHEP offer vascular as a part of the cirrculum, but it seems like the overwhelming majority offer it only as a speciality, and even the number of those schools isn’t very high.
So I’d like to know if anyone can tell me if I can learn RVT on the job, or if its college only? What the requirements are by ARDMS, etc.
Any advice or help would be great!
Thanks
