I personally majored in engineering; however, I don’t really consider any of the majors to be “joke majors”. I mean this in the sense that most majors do require really hard work (including Enlish, communications, psychology, etc). For instance, English majors probably have to read hundreds of pages of text per week, and write long essays too. I would respect most people that have an advanced degree, regardless of what it is (unless the “degree” comes from a diploma mill or something like that). However, the job prospects for certain majors (such as English, communications, psychology, etc) are kind of dismal… One of my engineering professors said that he would be okay if his son or daughter chose a humanities major, but that he would not pay for such an education. Such an approach is, IMO, a bit heavy-handed, but there is some truth to the fact that some majors may be more useful than others.

VCU has mass communications. I think a communications degree is good for a lot of jobs.

If you live in California, pretty much all Cal States & UC’s offer Communications as a major, it really depends on where’s your preference.

well emerson specializes in communications, in fact that’s all they basically focus on. but it’s a great school. also try these schools:
