College Students! I’m in the process of packing and need a little help deciding what to take…?

How did you decide how many clothes to take with you?

How did you decide which ones?

How did you decide what to take for your room? (posters, stereo, other misc. things)

Take enough stuff to make your room feel honey, and not like a bare walled cell, coordinate with your roommate on what exactly you will be bringing so you dont bring doubles of stuff. A couple posters are good, and your stereo as long as its small. If you have one of those huge stereo systems, leave it home and maybe find just a small radio/cd player since you wont have room.

I took tons of clothes and only wore about half of them. Take the stuff you really like and will really wear. You may think that you will really truly get up and make yourself look cute for that 8 am class, and for the 1st couple weeks you might, but then, just like everyone else you will realize that jeans and a tshirt are really much easier and allow for much more sleep time.

Look through your closet and take what you really wear, a couple nice outfits/ dresses/dress pants, and a some cute stuff for going out. Dont bring 30 pairs of shoes. Heels are great and cute but you wont want to walk around campus in them. Tennis shoes and flip flops are the best.

Remember that even though you cant easily get to stuff at home, your family can ship stuff to you if you need it.

Plan on only bringing a little bit of winter stuff with you in case it gets really cold before winter break. (If where you are going is cold, bring more) By the end of 1st semester you will have seen what clothes you wear and dont, bring what you really dont wear home, and bring your warm winter clothes to school.

Good luck! And im pretty sure all freshmen overpack, so even if you do you wont be alone. (all the girls in my building last year did)
