it all depends on where you go. visit colleges and go to the one you get the best feeling at that also offers a major you like.

make sure you dont rush your decision most americans require three things to be happy, love wealth and health but never attain all 3. in the pursuit of wealth they take a job that they dont like

*im making the same mistake*

what you like when u first start may not be what you truly enjoy in the future so talk to alumni or people from the field asking what to expect, and try to do intern work or on site experience

*i also really want to be a criminal justice but the pays not that great and starting hours are insane*

start with courses that offer you a way out. all majors require basic mathematics, writing, sceinces and humanities. take the general courses that you could carry from criminal justice to business

or

if you think you can handle it double major until you decide on one

I’d say that if you want to go into the criminal justice/political science career field, to major in it. True, a business degree can be applied pretty much anywhere, but if you are 100% positive that you want to go into criminal justice, major in it! You don’t have to declare a major until the end of sophomore year (at most schools), so you can always go in as undecided and make up your mind later. The first two years are just pre-requisites anyway.

Ultimately, you will have to do what you want to do. If buisness doesn’t appeal to you, don’t do it (although you may want to take a couple of business courses, because you might find out that that’s what you really want to do). Make sure that the schools to which you apply have a Criminal Justice degree option (because most schools don’t have such a degree). You might take some business courses so that you’ll have a back-up plan if you don’t get into law school.

Also, don’t major in pre-law as your only major. You can get into law school with any degree. If pre-law is your major, and you don’t get into law school, you might be screwed in terms of getting a job.

If criminal justice is your passion, you should definitely major in it. However, I know why people are telling you to major in business: it opens a lot of doors. I think the best option for you would be to major in criminal justice/pre-law and minor in business (which still gives you the basic skills that business majors get, just not the advanced expertise in a certain area of business)

You need to decide what the ultimate goal is…..criminal justice….or law school. Look into this closely…its quite a difference in pay. TAlk to people who do these different jobs. Passion for an area is great….but pay counts more than you would think at your age.

If you want to do law I am getting my degree in Communication Studies with a focus in political communication. There is also a concentration under this degree in Business Foundations. Any of the above will help you in applying to law school.

a school considerable is what your considerable learn is in college. in the adventure that your considerable is coaching, it somewhat is ur considerable learn, you’ve gotten double majors to boot, the place you specifically learn in 2 issues.
