College help. All opinions welcome…?

Okay… I keep going back and forth with this one. I really dont know what to do..

I really need your help. I can’t decided whether to do two years at community college and then two years at a university. Or just do all four years at the university…

Here are the pros and cons of each

Community College and then University..

Pro : More cost efficent, and would be a easier transition to college life.

Con : Still living at home. Only getting two years at Hilbert college. (which I really like, its a very comfortable feeling college)

All Four Years At University…

Pro : It’s a really nice school, I would get my own apartment (I dont want to live on campus)

Con : More expensive, and would be a big change!

WHAT SHOULD I DO! I had it figured out a month ago, but now I am so lost. Which would you do? HELP.

I think the best thing for you to do would be the second option. You’ll need to get used to big transitions, because you’ll have to learn to really be on your own. Getting through a change this big will undoubtedly benefit you in the future. As for the high cost, try and see if you qualify for a work study program at the university. See if you can get loans, or try to land a good paying job. I know the cost part isn’t going to be easy, but that’s the best I could do. All four years at a university would look way better on a resume…

When I was applying to colleges and universities I forgot the date and my application was turned in one day late so I was unable to go to the 4-year univeristy from the begining. I attended community college for one semester and then transfered to the 4-year university. I personally think it is a better idea to go straight to the 4-year universtiy. There are things that happen during those first two years that you will remember forever. The transition at first may be slightly harder but you will soon find out that everyone is in the same boat as you and you will adjust quickly.

Bottom line- if you can get into the college you want to right out of high school do it, dont wait 2-years

I think it’s better to do 4 years at University. If you do 2 and 2, you’ll have to leave your friends–and then make all new ones at a time when most cliques have already formed. You won’t really have the time to get to know professors or really bond with people on a sports team or in a club or anything.

And yes, it is a big change. I’m sure you’re scared of change, like most people, but it is inevitable. And if you want you can go to a University that’s close to home. I’m 2 hours away and my parents visit ALL the time. And also, everyone else is going through that same change and taking that same step and you will bond through that experience.

It is almost the same., You can go on with two years at the University because you are comfortable to leave within this Campus…! The only difference between the these two school is: You are able to cope up and you are satisfied with the polices inside the university…
