College at seventeen.?

Hello. I am sixteen and from Texas. I am a frshamn. Next year I am going to apply for my GED, drop out, and go to a community college. Until then, I will be in school. But, while I wait, what should I do to prepare, what should I learn about, what should I research, and what troubles might I have.

Practice your english writing, and sharpen your basic math skills. When you enter community college you will probobly have to take the compus (sp) test, which will place you in english and math classes. Another thing you could do is go to community college while working towrads your GED. One of my friends did this, and she had a full year of college credits by the time she earned her GED. But talk to the community college before to see if they will let you.

Also, look at which type of degree you want to earn, be it an associates degree or a bachlors, or a certificate in something. When you have decided this, look at what classes you will need to earn it, so you don’t take to many useless classes. However, if a class looks intresting to you, take it even it you don’t need it, because it might spark your intrest into another program, and just generally make you enjoy school more.

Good Luck!
