can somebody help me to write a formal letter requesting for a leave of absence from the University?

my grandmother died in India and I need to go to the funeral.I would like to leave for 1 week and request them for any work or practicals thati am gonna miss…Can somebody help me write a formal letter..thanks!

If you are in a university I would hope that you are qualified to write a formal letter. If not, then I weep for the future.

I’d say a formal letter wouldn’t be necessary, just speak with your professors and explain that you will be missing class for a week. Most of them will probably tell you to get the work you missed when you return. Sorry about your grandmother’s death! 🙁
