even though your GPA is lower then 85 i think you have a chance bc UB does accept lots of peoples GPA between 2.5 and 2.9 and you fall in there. look on collegeboard.com. its really helpful. taking your SAT is a great idea. to boost your chance apply early decision. sometimes if u do early decision they see u want to go there and will wait for first semester senior grades to come in and then make a choice. so do really well your senior year. i think you have a shot. its not that competitive and being a minority is typically a good thing. colleges like diversity. and oh if u have a advance regents diploma that wiill help a ton. they r bound to admit you.

Do you have Regents diploma? If so the SUNY schools are more likely to except you. Being a minority won’t hurt you. 1525 SAT? Is that good? Back in the day that was a near perfect score but I know they changed the scoring metric so I have no idea if that is good or no. If you could get your GPA up to 3.0 I think you would have no problem.
