Will I be required to take Calculus in college if I plan on becoming a business major?

Just like the person above me said… yes, nearly every major is required to take at least ONE course of calculus.

If it is possible, I would suggest trying to take Calculus I in high school, and take the AP exam to get credit for it. It’s much easier to take Calculus in High school, trust me. If that’s not possible, most of my friends faired better by taking their calculus courses at community college… The reason for this is, at High school, and community college, the teachers seemt to “care” more for you. High school especially… You can ask questions and they will answer to them, rather than college professors who brush you off and tell you to come to non-existant “office hours”

Wish you the best of luck.

When I was in college, EVERYONE had to take at least one semester of calculus – and yes that included the art and music majors.

Besides, much of the math you’ll be doing in your economics courses is actually calculus in disguise. Then there’s statistics and probability, which will eventually use…calculus.

You will most likely have to take at least a business calculus class. As long as you have a solid foundation in pre-calc, business calc will be pretty easy.
