If you mean taking the first part of the CPA exam then study and repetition. I took Taxation first and scored a 75 the first time, the minimum for passing each part. I went to a review course and studied about 110 hours. But good luck.

IF you mean your first intro to accounting 101 class, then repetition, do all the assigned homework and get help when you need it. You’ll probably learn the fundamentals like debits, credits, journal entries and bull$hit like that.

Fill out the scantron abba dabba cadabba (repeat as necessary)

Really the only way to learn Acc is to use it. It is horribly boring but that is really the only way. Notes are only there for a guide. Trying to take an accounting test by only looking at notes would be like studying notes on riding a bike if you did not know how and then jumping on expecting to know it.

I wish I would have practiced more in advance – not just re-read my notes.

Good luck! 🙂
