about appying to BYU-Idaho?

I am thinking to apply to Brigham Young University- Idaho in the USA. It seems to be affiliated with the Church and as i hear from people, the university prefers people related to christianity. I know nothing about Christianity as i am a hindu.

The university price is very suitabe to me. I am thinking to do a bachelors also taking pre-dentistry from there. I aim to apply to dental school later on.

Do you think i should actually spend my money and time applying to BYU-Idaho?? will they accept me even though i have no idea about church and things?? having experience with christianity is one of the factors for admission criteria, as listed on their website. but the admissions office says i dont need to have anything like that. obviously , they say this because they want the application fee!

what should i do??

Also, is this university really good? how accredited is this? do i stand any chance for getting into dental school if i study here??

i really need ur help. thanks.

Im currently a Senior at BYU-Idaho.. and I LOVE IT!! They accept people who are not LDS. The only thing is that you have to accept to follow the Honor Code, which to most people looks like a bunch of rules, but it really is just a good clean of life!! Rexburg, where its located is kind of a small town, and it gets really cold here durring the winters, so if you don’t like the cold.. dont go here!!

I love this school, and would love to tell you more about it if you want!! you can email me if you want more info: [email protected]

ps.. i know of alot of people who have gone on to dental school from here. they have an amazing program and really help you to get where you want to go

Brigham Young University in Salt Lake City, Utah and the Idaho campus are both run by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, known better as the Mormon Church. As with most religious universities, attendance at church services is generally required (chapel) a few times per week and there is likely to be some form of religious education requirement — theology classes, the history of the Mormon Church, etc.

If you are not Mormon, I would not recommend attending BYU, since it could draw your attention away from your studies. A state run university or non-religious private college would likely be better. Many of the state universities in the U.S. have excellent edcuational programs and are much more affordably priced.

While I am not entirely sure of the current policy, the BYU policy in the past has been to accept people from different back grounds, as long as you are willing to live by their code of ethics. Basically, live squeaky clean: no drugs, alcohol, no “girls in your room,” ect. They do also have a high standard for grades. They expect high grades and test scores. Although, the “Target Student” thing on their website, does say they are looking for students who “- demonstrate enthusiasm for life, service, and the gospel of Jesus Christ” so….

I couldn’t tell you anything about the dental school, sorry.

Good luck and all with the endless process of applying to school!

My sister is there now, and a few of my seminary teenagers have long gone there, all of them like it! My seminary teenagers from this 12 months are going to provo collectively. I went to Provo, and prefferred that, yet basically because of the fact i like the better inhabitants and sophistication sizes. this is greater approximately in case you like understanding easily eveyone (Idaho) or gettin gto be attentive to new human beings each classification, semester, and 12 months. My sister is plenty greater tender with the small city attitude. the two way ,you sign the honour code and your roommates sign the honour code, so which you have a lifelike expectation of living with human beings protecting a similar frequently used.

Hunny, you should hang it until you learn how to spell.. I’m sure they will be considering that.
