A minor is a second field of study that requires fewer credit hours to complete and does not count as a full degree. It is usually required by most universities to complement a Bachelor’s Degree.

You DEFINITELY want to start with basic biology classes for Biology majors. Research, neuroscience and genetics would be Biology, not psychology. And if you’re interested in research in those fields, you should probably consider the idea of going on the graduate school to get your Master’s and Ph.D. or go to a research medical school and focus your career on those areas.

The main point is start with biology; it is an amazing and fascinating subject (I’m biased– it’s my major) and it will open up a myriad of opportunities.
