I became a teacher because I have always enjoyed the company of children! They are so humbling and honest. They always put a smile on my face. I am a special education teacher and the work I do can be very tough but VERY rewarding at the same time. I agree with others who say we do not always get much credit for our work and we definitely do not get much money! Even with that said, I would not trade my profession for anything else.

Being a teacher is an honorable job of helping others to better themselves.By learning to read and write we can communicate with others.By learning history we can be aware of our background as a country. It’s any wonder that someone would desire the career. But it is also the most unappreciated job ever.

The way that you get to plan your own career, versus someone else telling you what to do day in and day out. The awesome feeling that you get when you realize how important you are to your students. The awesome amount of free vacation time you get while still being paid! It rocks!

They probably admired their teachers and are motivated by them. They see their own teachers as role models and their mentor and want to be like them.

because it keeps you interested in life and learning; you work with the best people – children; you laugh every day. it’s not an easy option; it can be a tough job sometimes but it’s so worth it.
