I thought Al Gore did? Just did kidding…

Ok, the Internet was developed as a research project funded by the U.S. Department of Defense way back in the 60’s and 70’s (just in case the U.S. had a major attack and the government had to go into hiding but could still maintain a system of communications). It wasn’t until the 80’s when the “World Wide Web” came to be after the government lifted it restrictions on use of the net.

That would be Al Gore. He said he is the father of the internet. Not true, but if Al Gore said it, the democrats believe it. Give the guy a call.

The internet was created by the US government for military operations. The internet has been around for a long time, but not near the form we see it now.

Nerds were gaming on the internet for years before it hit mainstream and took off like shot.

This was actually part of my senior project. I’m not sure exactly when, I believe it was early 90’s. The internet was first a military communication program. The government called it ARPA net. At the same time, it was used so that many people could access the few supercomputers that existed at the time. This being mainly for research reasons, but I think there were others. Computers were too expensive at the time(not to mention, huge), so the internet was created so only few supercomputers needed to exist.

Al Gore invented it because he said he did, and would he lie?

(chuckle chuckle).
