Pounds but not stone?

Americans love to make fun of the British and their “crazy” metic system.

However, they do use it for certain things, mainly miles, for their road signs, and when measuring their weight on scales.

My question is this, why do Americans only use pounds when measuring weight and not stone as well.

1 Stone is 14 pounds, so

for example I am 149 lbs. But I would say I’m 10st 7lbs.

So why don’t Americans use stone even though it is an Imperial measurment?

we come from stubborn convicts kicked out of the UK and to us pound and stone go with Paula Pundstone a comedienne and we just like to do it our way, some would call it lazy but like the aussies I think its just our way mate

Mmmmm
I though UK would be metric by now.

And only America remains backdated as compared with the rest of the World.

Us still has measures in feet and inches and lbs …

rest of the World calculation is easy in metric.

Because scales have dials on them and the dials are marked in pounds.

b.c to us stones is outdated. we use metric for our cars speedometer and soda/water bottles. and science. but not for mesuring height. and we want to be different thats why we have a different mesurement.
