On May 22, 2003 Yuichiro Miura, a professional skier and a high school headmaster from Sapporo in Japan became the oldest man to reach the summit of Mount Everest at the age of 70. He was among 31 people who reached the summit on Thursday as part of the Miura Everest 2003 Expedition.
