Is it possible to go from regular science in 9th grade to honors physics in 10th grade?

Right now, i’m taking CP General Science (general science is required for all freshmen) and for math i’m taking algebra 2 and currently have an A in both subjects. My question is that is it possible to go from CP General Science this year and go to honors physics next year in 10th grade? But the one thing is that it says in the handbook that the prerequesites you need to enter honors physics is honors general science and algebra 2. I just need any ideas or past time experiances anybody has

You might be able to. Talk to the counselor about testing out of reqular general science and getting into honors. Then you should be able to.

Also, nice job on taking algebra 2 in 9th grade. You must be good at math. Also consider taking chemistry sometime in high school. Its a fun and challenging class.

If it says you need honors general science and algebra 2, then that’s what you need. Honors usually refers to your level of achievement, so if you were a straight A student in science and had the required algebra course, you should be okay. There is usually a challenge option as well, if for some reason you don’t have the prerequisites but feel you can cope with the work.

Not unless you take the AP test. You should have taken this test already. Also talk with your academic counselor. I took Honors chemistry in the 9th grade and honors Physics in the 10th grade. But I came from middle school honors. Because you are passing the classes with a A does not mean you are ready for honor classes.
