I’m a business professor and though I don’t teach at Harvard, I can tell you that if we wanted to narrow down a list of applicants, we would look for classes in mathematics (and other hard sciences)…perhaps also those with more than the normal requirements for English (e.g., creative writing, journalism, grammar) or perhaps advanced classes in a foreign language.

In fact, I can give you an easy trick to decide what classes Harvard would appreciate…they are the hardest, most advanced classes available at your school. The competition for admission to Harvard Business School is FIERCE! What do you think says more about your ability to succeed in that environment…an A in “pre-algebra” and basketweaving or and A in AP calculus and advanced physics???

See your guidance counselor for suggestions…most have a “college prep” curriculum already printed to give to students that express an interest in attending a top school.
