I know this one, there is a similar answer to one regarding half of 10 being 6. Here is the answer.
Using your fingers, count up to 12. Now, starting on the finger you ended on, count back down from 12. When you have counted down to 7, you will be on your 6th finger. Voila, 7 is half of 12
