Or do you mean the introductory paragraph in an essay?
interview: your entire life story, anything not relevant to the position
date: your past relationships, any weird quirks/habits
paragraph: first person (no “I” or “I think”), DO have a first sentence with a topic and treatment (a statement and treatment/direction), and DO state your claim (the thesis).
