Vocational instructor?

I have applied for a job as a vocational instructor, teaching prisoners air conditioning. The pay isn’t as good as a normal AC job, but I kinda like the idea of helping folks get their lives straight. Most folks around me are acting thumbs down on the subject. What do ya’ll people think.

Bravo! You have the chance to change people’s life that a great thing to do. Teaching is a life changing experince and if you get in there and don’t like it you will be a better employee on an AC job because of the people skills and communication skills that you will have acquired. Teaching is hard but as a vocational instructor you have an advantage because it’s hands on and something they will be inersted in.

I teach summer school at a psychiatric facility. My first concern would be the security system. I work in a building where there are guards outside the hallways at all times. I am not allowed to carry anything like pepper spray or whatever. But. I haven’t had the need to use it really, even though I was attacked once.

A friend of mine teaches at a correctional facility and the guards inside the building are unarmed! They have a buzzer that is remote operated. This buzzer contacts the C.O. standing somewhere else in the building.
