Urgent!!!!!?

What kind of interesting class activities can you set based on a passage? Its for reading comprehension. And the passage is a nice short story. the activity should not consume much time either… something other than picture description, word search and crossword…

any ideas please????

Thanks!

I’d question the value of word searches and crosswords as reading comprehension activities. They have value, but I am not certain they address comprehension.

Here are a few sites that describe a variety of comprehension activities. Possibly something with sequencing might be appropriate if the students are younger. Kids often enjoy doing a time line of the events.

Best of luck with it.

Discussion can be rather interesting. Develop questions that deal with the whys and what ifs (application, evaluations, etc) to determine understanding of main idea. Perhaps let them find a part of the story that answers the question and read it aloud with expresion. Maybe even ask each one to illustrate the main idea of the story or use three groups (one for the beginning, one for the middle, one group for the ending).
