This stupid teacher can’t teach!?

I am in the 10th grade. I have NEVER in my life experianced a teacher that gets more algebra problems wrong than the students. I am failing her class because she goes too fast (everyone is constantly telling her to slow down) and everytime i finally get something, we move on to the next lesson, and by testing time, i forget everything she taught me that was once SO easy, but all that info crammed into my brain has been making me frustrated. And even worse is that I have no one to complain to anymore because she made everyone sit in new seats, including my boyfriend who sits on the other side of the room. Even worse is that lately i’ve been getting everything she’s been teaching, and i am SO confident that i pass these tests, but when i get them back i fail???

I can’t take it- it’s classes like this that make me wanna blow school off and drop out.

any advice?

P.S. : tutors wont help, i had a tutor in 4th grade, but i was so confused that eventually the tutor gave up

I suck at math too! If possible go ask another teacher for help. Maybe it’s the teaching style that’s the problem.

Don’t drop out. I had the worst 7th grade math teacher. I know how you feel. It sounds like you have test anxiety. I have that too. Talk to your teacher and parents.

ps Don’t worry so much about not sitting next to your bf. In fact, I’d ask to be moved out of the class to avoid being distracted.

dropping out sounds like the answer! When things get difficult the real winners in life head for the door!

GROW UP!

The fact you even mention were your boyfriend sits in the class screams immaturity!

First you need to ask classmates to see if they are lost too? Maybe its just you? If its you or the whole class you need to approach the teacher first! (common courtesy!) If that doesn’t work only then can you talk to the HS administration about your problem. Start with a counselor and have some documentation of what you have been doing to try to help yourself (study groups, study habits, meeting dates and times with the teacher were you asked for help) with the evidence the counselor should be able to handle the situation! If its just a conflict between you and the teaher, perhaps you could be asked to go to another teacher who teachs the same course.

Good luck!

I wish I had an answer that would do the trick for you. My daughter had the same thing happen to her she got a D in the class. All she was able to do was take the class in summer school with someone else and she got a B I don’t know if that will help but that is what happened

Ask the counslor to change your teacher. Hopefully, your school has other teachers that teach Algebra.

If there’s no other teachers, this is the only choice left: (I hate it, too)

-When you get home from school, you do ALL of your homework.

-Take out your math textbook, and do problems in there. Use examples to help

-Check it.

-Do more problems & check it.

-Do it again and again

That’s called studying. It’s a pain but, it’ll help you. Good luck!

sounds as though the real problem is the fact she moved you and your bf apart…you need to put your nose in your algebra book and keep it there…you are in school to learn not to hold hands and make kissy faces…life isnt fair and high school is just one small bump on the road to you finding that out all on your own

Stop whining.

Lose the boyfriend.

Work harder; Algebra doesn’t fall into your lap. When you “get” something, the teacher should move on; you should work to remember it.

Maybe you can talk to your teacher. Tell her how you feel. She may change the way she does things. Maybe you can ask for extra help? Good luck.

get a tutor.

stop blaming others.

You are exactly the same as you were in grade 4? then stop with the excuses.

Go with your friend to the director and tell her/him that we don’t understand what she says.
