Freshmen easily get distracted from their studies because they suddenly have so much freedom. Just kindly remind him what he is there for. If that doesn’t work, remind him who pays for his college (I’m assuming you do), and tell him that that oney may not be there next term if he doesn’t bring his grades up.

I would … yes. Will it do any good?…. Maybe/ maybe not. I would at least try.

When I was in college… I was struggling as a single mom, used every penny I had to become a nurse.

There was a girl whom I got to know fairly well. She broke my heart. She had a full ride scholarship to Texas A&M University due to her amazing skills on the basketball court. Instead, she got hooked on meth amphetamines and would party so much that eventually, she just stopped coming to classes. I tried to help her but she was bound and determined to self-destruct. She dropped out and now works as a cashier at a gas station. She could have been making big money if she would have stuck with her education.

Yeah, I would say something … even if it doesn’t help, you gotta at least try. :o) good luck.

Lovingly remind him that he won’t have a next quarter to party at if he gets himself put on academic probation from not studying enough.

Are you paying for his education???

Then you have the right to ask about grades and put his nose to the grind stone!!

If partying is the problem, bring him back into line, quickly!!!!
