No, I don’t think so.
I recently moved to a new area, and I did not like this school’s education level. So I went on Independent Studies. When you’re on independent studies, you’re only required to meet with your teacher for one hour a week, and the rest of the week you are off from school. It makes things easier for me, and you can get extensions if you do good work and need more time. No getting up at 6 AM and leaving school at 3:00 PM.
But, then again, some kids like to go to school and meet new people. Some parents want their kids to go to school. It’s all preference really.

No. I believe six hours is sufficient. Many students have trouble holding their attention after an hour of two of school. Six hours can be a struggle for many student and extending the day would not make their education any better. Many students are also not getting enough sleep as they are waking early in the morning to get to school. I would be in favor of making school start and end a little later but not for adding extra hours.

There should only be an extra hour of school if it is done to make sure kids are getting art, music, and sports. More than 6 hours of academics is way too much. It’s important for kids to receive a well-balanced education.

No. Kids minds are already shut off at 2:00. They struggle through their last hour as it is. Why would we want to have them pushing through even longer? Plus you would have to pay teachers more. We are already having problems with that.

right now students do not spend the full school day on academics. changing classes, special programs, study halls and other disruptions keep kids from getting a full day.

First of all, I hope that you are not a teacher. You should know that it is “There” not “Their” . Maybe there should be an extra hour.
