Question abotu becoming an elementary teacher?

I am a senior in High School and wish to become a Elementary teacher. I have heard of programs that completely pay for people to become nurses, turtion books, ect. and promise a job in the end. Is there anything like this is the feild of Elementary education, and if there is is there a website I can view for more information?

Thank you so much for your help.

There are federal programs that forgive portions of student loans if you teach in “high need” (poor) districts. Also try Americorp, I received a scholarship from them for student teaching in a high need district.

Make sure that your state needs teachers, or you may end up having to move out of state, working in a field other than education or unemployed. Do your own research, the college admissions reps only care about getting your money, they don’t care if you end up teaching at the South Pole.

There is not a program exactly like that. But the No child left behind program will pay for your student loans up to a certain amount if you teach at a school that serves “low income” children. look up no child left behind.
