Good advice from someone else about not being alone with the student. You should also act in a distant manner.

document every interaction, save every email or anything. I had a student ask me out last semester and kept document of every interaction to cover my butt. I had emails that told him that it was not appropriate for me to have anything but a student/teacher relationship with him.
It’s one thing when the students are kids, but when the non-traditional ones are there…I’m a single adult. However, any social interaction must be after the class is over.
