There are only 2 things that I can think of that may be the reason for your trouble. First of all, I had to take 2 classes for the conditional certificate. I was told that you needed to take both in order to be certified: “Training in School Violence Prevention and Intervention” and “Identification and Reporting of Child Abuse and Maltreatment”. I took both through my union, the UFT. They only cost $10 each and lasted around 2-3 hours. It was pretty easy, and helpful. I teach in NYC, so I am not sure if that is a statewide requirement, or just for the city.

The other thing is that you said your certificate expired. Maybe that has something to do with it? None of my stuff expired, and it seems that is the only difference between us.

I also use the TEACH website. I belive there is contact information there. You could email, but better to call and talk to a PERSON!
