Need HELP!!!Teacher Only Please!!!?
My wife is a teacher and she got her first check. The check was a pretty good amount except for the fact that it had a lot of deductions. Some were from TRS and C Club etc. Why did she have so much taken from her check. It was over 1,000 dollars. Is this normal for teachers and will this happen for every check. Please help me to understand!

She might also not have put in any deductions from federal and state taxes and added in stuff to take out of paycheck that is not needed. Have her go over her paycheck with payroll to see what can be done. Its a pain, but well worth it.

I work for a school. It depends on what she signed up for. Of course all checks will have Federal, State taxes plus FICA. TRS is probably teachers retirement system(a mandatory deduction in our state. Perhaps she signed up for the teachers union (might me listed as NEA, etc) She may have a out of pocket expense for her insurances. etc.
