Los Angeles Unified School District Teachers, Which schools are best which to avoid? I’m thinking of an intern

Start from an assumption that you want to make a difference in students lives. Then the choice of school does not come from what you want, but rather what the students need. Each and every school in my district (LAUSD) is filled with students who are there to learn and need quality teachers. If you are coming to us with an assumption that this school is “bad”, how will it affect your teaching? Will you have lower expectation for those kids?
This we do not need. I would suggest you go look for a job in another field. I have questions I use in the interview process to weed out teachers with strange expectations. What I look for are eager teachers with high expectations. These teachers can teach in any school, in any system.
I hope i am reading you wrong, but if I am correct, please take something constructive out of my response – look at what the students need…you are trying to be a public educator, no? It is not about us.
good luck.

It’s over the hill from Griffith Park and it’s the #1 Academic school in LA
He’s stuck in a SFV high school, which isn’t bad, but academically it’s horrible.
