I went on a few interviews for teaching a few weeks ago & have not heard anything back. Should I call them?
Favorite Answer
To get a teaching job is a three step process:
1. Getting the interview
2. Acing the interview
3. The post-interview follow-up
You are missing out on 1/3 of the process. The very next day after the interview you should send each member of the interview committee a hand-written “thank you” and make sure to mention something specific about YOUR interview.
Follow that up two days later with an email and then again a couple days after that with a phone call…never wait a few weeks to follow-up after an interview…the job may already be gone.
Don’t worry about looking desperate…you won’t…you’ll look like an eager go-getter!

Ask to know when they will be making a decision, or if you are at least on their hiring short list.
I got a job years ago because I called back every week for a month. They had not found anyone else better qualified in that time, I was interested, so decided to hire me. They had been looking for two years.
