For TEACHERS!!?

I grew up playing soccer, and I practiced a lot. Guess what?
I got better. You’ve got to practice anything to get better. Whether it’s soccer or writing or algebra, you’ll only get better by practicing.
Don’t settle for just knowing it. Know it better than anyone, because it makes everything you do afterwards easier.
You would be surprised how many students forget what was covered in class the day before. Some forget before they leave school for the day.
Less homework is not going to improve the situation in public schools.
I have 80 students and I teach English. So, when I give my students an assignment they only have to do it one time and I have to grade 80 students’ papers!!!!! When I say 80 papers, I mean 80 five-page papers. So that means that I would have to read 400 pages worth of work that usually doesn’t make sense. Do you know that it takes teachers almost the whole weekend to grade papers sometimes!!! We want to spend time with our friends and families too. We want to go to the movies and chill. We want to go dancing and act like idiots sometimes too.
As teachers, we have to plan what we are going to teach each day. We also have to worry about parents calling and complaining because some parents think that their kids get too much homework and some parents think that their kids don’t get enough homework (And these are parents of kids in the same class-ugh!) So I bet you’re wondering why we assign homework if we don’t feel like grading it. The reason that we assign it is because there isn’t enough time in a 60 minute class period to let kids write their papers. Also, we have a boss named a principal that requires us to give certain assignments. A lot of times it is out of the teacher’s hands!
We also have to come to school really early and stay late. Believe me, I know that school is really boring for kids most of the time but next time you feel sorry for yourself think about how much work a teacher puts into teaching. The bad thing is that most of the time the kids don’t put a lot of effort into their work and we have to read 5 page papers where the students don’t spell most of the words correctly and some of the paragraphs don’t even make sense–it is like translating a foreign language. Don’t get me wrong, I love teaching kids, but sometimes it is very discouraging and mentally draining.
