Not everyone graduates. Some schools, like Harvard, Princeton, Stanford and Yale, which have very high entrance requirements, but which are easy once you get there, have very high graduation rates, but even those schools have less than 100% graduation rate. Some people, like Bill Gates, for example, leave voluntarily because they have something else they’d rather do than to stay in school.
Colleges are set up so that students graduate once they have completed a certain number of hours and received a passing grade in their classes. There are certain classes a student must take, as well as classes you must take to fulfill your major. Visit any college online and look under graduation requirements — they’ll have the information there.
That’s about right. Of all of the real friends I made during college (around 20), only 7 or 8 of us actually graduated.
People drop out for various reasons. Most of my friends couldn’t buckle down to take going to class seriously because they were caught up in going to parties and staying up all night because it was their first time being away from home.
Once you get beyond the parties and college drama (usually around junior year) you are just determined to get it over with. By that time I only stayed on campus long enough to go to classes and take care of business.
You’ll see what I mean. Have fun!!
